What Luma is great at
Luma's free plan is generous: unlimited events and unlimited guests per event, up to 500 invites or newsletters a week, and automated reminders by email, SMS, push and WhatsApp. Events live on calendars people can follow, with newsletters, approvals, waitlists and Zoom attendance tracking. For a meetup series or a community with regular events, it's hard to beat, and it's rated 4.9 from about 18,000 App Store ratings.
Why personal celebrations are different
A wedding, a baby shower or a 40th birthday isn't a meetup. Guests expect an invitation that looks like one, and hosts need to know who's bringing kids, who's vegetarian, what's been bought from the registry, and where everyone's photos ended up afterward. A registry, a photo album and sign-up sheets weren't advertised on Luma when we checked.

Is Luma free?
Yes. Luma's free plan includes unlimited events and guests and up to 500 invites or newsletters a week, with a 5% platform fee on paid events. Luma Plus costs $59 a month billed annually and removes the platform fee.
Does Luma charge fees on tickets?
On the free plan, Luma charges a 5% platform fee on paid events on top of card processing fees, which Stripe typically sets at 2.9% plus 30 cents. Luma Plus has a 0% platform fee.
Is EzyEvite good for meetups?
EzyEvite works for any event with an RSVP, including capacity limits and a waitlist, but it doesn't sell tickets or offer calendars people can follow. For ticketed or recurring community events, Luma is built for that.
Do guests need an account to RSVP on EzyEvite?
No. Guests open the invitation link in any browser and reply yes, maybe or no in one tap, with party size and any questions you add.
